Hi all, work continues with the Southern Trancon. For the past few months, we've been working on the backdrop. 8 With that winding down, it's full steam ahead with the third level and the bench work is almost complete. 13 Roadbed is starting to come together at Perryton. We're starting here and working our way back. 16Thanks for looking, -Dave

Some pics of SSW 63365 as it's finished up. Have a great Sunday. Mark Hills Finished under frame, the piece I cut away is below. A bit of salt on the roof. Got a good paint march for the finished doors. All done, those Tangent trucks really set it off, so much better than the stock Atlas ones.

Last week at the RPM East meet I picked up a Plate C Model Protypes 3D printed model of a PRR F41 flat car. This was my first 3D kit and it was interesting to assemble. Kit comes with the frame, grab irons, brake wheels, a laser cut wood deck and weights. The prototype car uses a GSC casting and is similar to the old Walthers GSC flatcar but the PRR assembled car is not the same as the Walthers car. I distressed the deck some and will later paint it to show a well weathered appearance. I painted it PRR Freight Car red and am waiting for Mt Vernon shops to release PRR and PC for this car. I did add KD couplers, Tahoe trucks and added a little more to the underframe. Nice that 3D printed cars are starting to become available.

Some basic work for me: Assembled a Walther's caboose kit. Had issues with humidity wreaking havoc when I painted some parts with TCP CN&W green (I have to spray outside; it's been rainy here in Florida), and some of the stuff didn't fit particularly well out the box. The MILW reefer is an intermountain I started to weather, but then one of the middle stirrups broke. So I got some Yarmouth stirrups for an Athearn mechanical reefer and modified them to fit. I'll resume weathering when the paint dries.

Another week away from the bench unfortunately. Spent the afternoon getting a GP9 ready for a hood removal and main generator swap. We are converting it to Loksound in the process.

Nothing too exciting again, picked an atlas ACL 50' out of the stack and weathered the wheelsets and trucks on it and slapped in a #158. I always wanted one of these slogan cars after seeing a Jim Six article years ago. This will pass back through for a proper weathering down the line.

We are converting it to Loksound in the process. It looks like you won't have to shave the weights to get the speakers installed.

Good stuff guys. Almost done with another coil hauler, still some finishing touches to be done for my tastes.
