literally any context would be nice. are these new announcements? Updates on previous announcements? Something they found in the basement? My update didn't save the first time. Context from their newsletter is now added.

4/25/2023, about 1:20 p.m., EDT
After receiving an email reminder about the Sharks and other new runs from Curtis Koch, who is now working for BLI in dealing with modelers, I wr one asking about their ETA, which I hadn't spotted in the announcement on the 21st or on the firm's website. His reply follows:
"These are scheduled for the Fall of 2023. We're looking for these to come out in November but assuming no delays of any kind we could maybe see it come October."

Oh thank god, I was worried my wallet had too much money in it. Surely you need ABBA Conrail Sharks.

The Jersey Central scheme is sharp, I always thought that one looked good. It looks like they covered most of the popular schemes; I'm glad to see D&H down at the bottom; I was worried they were going to forget that one. To me, that's the quintessential RF-16 scheme.
The fighter plane 'shark mouth' scheme is funny, especially considering the name of these locomotives.

I put my order in for an A-B-A set of NYC in their Stealth line. I will have to renumber one of the A-units.
I would think BLI would have been better off to replace one of their freelanced versions and added the EJ&E ones again. Or just added the EJ&E ones again. I would have bought those too.
You can get the B-units powered in the Stealth line. Not in the sound version.

Yes, this trend of fantasy paint schemes will rile some folks but, dang, a Sharknose in tangerine and blue!!
That might be a buy...

Are they changing anything with the model besides the electronics? The release wasn't very clear.

I would have purchased Boston & Maine, SP Daylight or Florida East Coast had them done them in those roadnames..... Until then my wallet is safe.

April 26, about 9:30 p.m., EDT
The story of how the D&H chose how to paint its two Baldwin Sharknose units is an interesting one involving a skilled model railroader (not me). If any reader isn't familiar with it and would like to read about it, I should be able to reconstruct a summary, though not before finishing some more pressing tasks.

Didn't they just paint them the same way they painted their PAs, which was just the Santa Fe Warbonnet with blue instead of red?

Is there anything that makes these BLI F3s and 7s better than the Athearn Genesis models? Thanks, Mark

That's not to say they might not be pretty good models, just not that good.

Close, but not quite the same.

I would say that the Genesis version is Highliners tooling so I can’t imagine the BLI being as good/better.

It's the warbonnet but with the lightning stripe jog, which was probably easier to mask up.
