Nice, Dan. Must be Mother's Day kept everyone on the run.

I applied the decals on my model of the Mercersburg Railroad's caboose #201. They are my artwork printed by Highball Graphics. This is a Wright Trak kit for a Southern bay window caboose, which Mercersburg acquired as a Conrail N5H. The real one evidently survives, derailed, somewhere around Falls Creek, PA.

Danpik, beautiful as always. I assume you made your own decals again and may have created the paint schemes. What make are the reefer models?
I wonder whether anyone has created HO reefers lettered for Athletic Brewing, a very successful contemporary brewer of legally nonalcoholic beer, which is 90% or more of the beer I've consumed in recent years. They make several very tasty kinds, brewing for very low alcohol content without unnaturally removing alcohol after brewing. This, like the fact that Polar Beverages of Worcester, MA has in recent years produced far more unsweetened soft drinks than ones with real or ersatz sugar, is, in my opinion, a very positive development.
Karl, your are probably correct about Mother's Day. That was certainly true in my case. I left home very early with my wife and older son for a celebratory brunch at the home of our younger son, his wife and our granddaughters. Afterwards helped my wife with much shopping and yard and garden tasks, then went to an unanticipated supper gathering with them and others at the home of our granddaughters' other grandparents.
Simulatortrain, a terrific model. Did the kit come with the windows blanked? A little railroad history: in the 1880's William Vanderbilt, who controlled the New York Central, was upset with the Pennsylvania Railroad's obtaining control over the West Shore railroad in New York State. He restarted construction on a South Pennsylvania Railroad intended to run west of Harrisburg to compete with the PRR, with backing from Andrew Carnegie and Henry Clay Frick. J.P. Morgan, an ally of Vanderbilt who wanted to avoid competition between the two systems, arranged a truce that was blocked by legal difficulties. Some grading had been done and some tunnels constructed. After delays the New York Central gained control of the West Shore and even later the unfinished South Penn was taken over by the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission which used a number of its tunnels, some of which are still used by that toll highway.

Thank you Steve!
I had to blank the windows. This is the early version kit, and the late version did come with blanked windows. However, the other side still has 2 windows left, whereas all 8 are blanked on the late WT kit.
It also came with almost no rivets, only those connecting the body to the underframe. I'd make a joke about keeping Archer in business, but, well...

I thought about starting this thread yesterday, but I got sidetracked forgot. Oops. Slightly modified atlas boxcar. Just lopped off the cushion pocket and put a kadee box. Luckily there is a 2mm screw for the weight on the car. Just popping in a longer 2mm screw allows one to reuse the hole for a coupler box, so I could maybe use a Moloco draft gear later. Also put together this Walther’s grain bin. It *might* have had some extra pieces as the box says “up to 7 inches.” But this’ll go on my club layout to replace some heijan silos at a flour mill. Not pictured: I picked up an intermountain BN 4750 at the same swap meet where I got the grain bin. Of course it wound up being another FW&D car. So change the reporting marks, added the stiffener rib along the top, modify the bolsters for Walther’s 100-ton truck, and use a countersunk screw to hold the coupler in. Pretty standard fair for my Intermountain 4750s

Good morning from Sunny and Warm Northeast Ohio! Even with working on another bowling tournament and other stuff this week managed to get some modeling done. First Up, an old Details West Blue Island Reefer kit, Evans built several thousand of these cars and they ended up in the grocery and lumber shipping business. The Ralston cars did not last long in their livery and ended up with C&NW reporting marks. Car was painted with Scalecoat II ATSF Red and Silver Paints and then lettered with Herald King Decals. Next, the SP & SSW had a few thousand of these FMC built cars on the roster for transporting lumber from the Pacific Northwest across the country. IMRC Kit, painted with Scalecoat II Tuscan Red and Silver Paints and lettered with Herald King Decals. I also continued work on the Moloco PC&F RBL with 10' Offset Doors. Here I have completed the B end detailing including the cut levers. Now the side detail except the ladders have been added, I skip the ladders at this point as it makes it easier to mask the sides as the car ends are a different color than the body. I will paint the ladders when I paint the body and attach them later. A Pair of SP & SSW SD's with a general freight running on the Strongsville Club layout. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski

The two models shown this week are older Walthers. Most of the fleet 100+ are Athearn with a few MDC and Walthers kits mixed in. I have mostly been concentrating on Pre and post Prohibition era breweries. Recently I have stumbled across a lot of old time Root Beer logos that I may put on boxcars. To answer the other question, Yes these are all my own decals. I have been keeping the format fairly simple and contemporary unless I find an actual prototype that I will match Dan

I'd like to have shown off a completed NYSW heritage model but the decals I got were horrible. Color was way off. Top color shifted off base color. Haven't heard anything back from company yet. Hopefully something gets resolved.

He's trying to correct it. i gave them more photos' with the proper shade of red for the stripe and he was working on the printer issue of hte color shift. But cmr, i mean they just blame the customer with everything it seems. 20 plus years of modeling i know how to apply decals.

why anyone buys anything from CMR at this point baffles me.
Between the whole Big Dawg thing and basically stealing models, to the garbage customer service I wouldn't touch them with a 30 foot pole.

Was the only option at the time. CMR thought doesn't make the decals, its netzlof designs. He atleast is trying to help me out with fixing them. Fusion scale also trying to do them. So this chat just reminded me to reach out ot both to get some updates.

I bought some of their taller exhaust stacks for a project. 2/4 were unusable and warped… project didn’t go as well as hoped. I suppose no one here would complain if I cloned their part myself?

There 3d printed stuff I actually like. Have lots of parts I need. But no idea if they actually make them or sell for others.
