Good morning from sunny and warm Northeast Ohio! Here is this weeks completed projects. First up, a standard Stewart 14 Panel Hopper that matches the 200 plus cars that the DT&I owned for transporting coal and coke from Southeastern Ohio to the steel mills in Detroit. Car was painted with Scalecoat II Black and lettered with Herald King Decals. Next a Kadee 50' PS1 boxcar painted with Scalecoat II Reading Green paint and lettered with Ann Arbor Historical Society Decals. In 1962 the Green Bay and Western ordered 20 50' PS1 Boxcars for Ford Auto Parts transportation. After the cars arrived, they were sent to the DT&I for installation of DF2 Loaders and Parts Racks and were essentially used by the DT&I to move parts between Ford Plants. My latest acquisitions, a pair of Atlas C-420's in Lehigh Valley livery running with a general freight on the Strongsville Club layout. I had an ulterior motive in acquring these locomotives, in 1964 the DT&I traded 3 GP35's to the Lehigh Valley for them to evaluate their use for 10 months on the LV, in return the DT&I got 3 C420's, these were passed onto the AnnArbor as the AnnArbor was used to using Alcos whereas the DT&I was all EMD. The LV also tested out PRR C-628's and purchased C-628's as the GP35's were too slippery for use on the LV. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski

GACX (Nabisco) airslide covered hopper. Started with an undecorated Athearn kit that was painted with a mix of Modelflex SP Lettering Gray and White. It was then lettered with Daniel Kohlberb's (ICG Decals) decals. To match the prototype the Athearn trucks were replaced with Kato trucks with Tangent code 88 wheels.

Just finished decaling this Athearn NACC box with custom Rohm & Haas decals. I hadn't realized until doing the artwork that these cars had alcohol heaters (RBLH), so I printed those parts before painting the car black.

I’ve always had a soft spot for Fairbanks-Morse locomotives. The very first brass engine I acquired was a Howell Day/Red Ball FM H16-44 way back in the 1970s. Back in those days I was only interested in the PRR and it was so painted and decaled. These days, the Atlas FMs have put to shame the brass models of that early era. I picked up an Atlas DL&W H16-44 a few years ago which I decided to detail a bit further. The Lackawanna had some unusual MU appliances on the pilots which I thought would make for an interesting model. To the stock model, I added Cal-Scale EL end platforms, Details West air hoses and speed recorder, and Detail Associates FM buffer plates and widow shades. Some photos of DL&W FMs appear to show their Leslie horns as either unpainted or painted an aluminum shade so I added that touch as well.

Here is a work in progress of a yet to be completed SCL K-19 gondola. The model is a pure Tangent parts build and will definitely fit into my late 1960s, early 1970s era. Tangent ACF SCL gondola build

Haven't posted many photos lately as I have been busy at the bench. First is something over a year in the making. One NS RPE-4D with a milled Athrean frame a P2K spliced walkway and the remainder is scratch built. Just finished the handrails with Precision Scale stations. Next is the project that has taken the past two months. A kit bash of a real Life kit bash done by Southern. Southern took a couple hundred Central of Georgia 40'boxcars and had Transco stretch them to 50'. They had a 10' door opening with some getting door and Half(one 6' and one 4' door) others got 10' Youngstown doors. Here is the door and half version. To be presented at the Carolinas RPM in September. Thanks! Great work again this week.

Looks good everyone. Been slowly churning out things but not close to photos yet. Maybe soon.
Fab weathering on those cars, Tbird.
