Finally got decals that work with you and not curling up, wrong colors or to thick. All that's left is the white reflective sill stripe, white "F" and putting back the factory athearn led's. I'll give it satin coat tomorrow. Trying to do this was a major pain, literally. It's the first modeling i've done since my workplace injury back on April 2nd. Leaning/hunched over hurtttttsss still. Had to call it quits are it would've been completed. 20230611_164904 by Tripps Pics79, on Flickr 20230611_164937 by Tripps Pics79, on Flickr Nose is not fully attached 20230611_165009 by Tripps Pics79, on Flickr 20230611_164956 by Tripps Pics79, on Flickr

Steve, congratulations on a very nice decaling job! Who made the decals?
I hope you'll be feeling better soon. I just got back from several hours with my wife in the hospital in Boston where she has been for three days and is likely to be until at least the middle of the week that started today.

Well, I got a few cars done this week. First, a Proto 2000 50' Double Door Boxcar with end doors, painted with Scalecoat II Mineral Red paint and lettered with Microscale Decals. I am showing both sides of the car as they are lettered differently. These were 1929 cars rebuilt in 1941 in Class FE-22. The FE class comes from the period when they did not ship autos in boxcars and the FE stood for FurniturE. Next a rebuilt and repainted NYC boxcar, using a Branchline kit but with Despatch Roof and Ends, painted with Floquil PC Green and lettered with Microscale Decals. Car was used in general service. Finally, a pair of Prepainted Bowser H21a hopper cars to add to the 18 cars already finished, but I did dull-coat the shiny factory applied paint. (Coal loads will be spruced up in the future.) Here are the brothers of the H21a's running behind a pair of Bowser RS-3's on the Strongsville Ohio Club Layout. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski

Heres a handful I painted up tonight. Tomar 804 Saturn 6551 Warn-A-Lite 851 52-4 Reflectolite Federal Commander Pyle 15360 Gyralite modified with a Tomar strobe. EJ&E had a bunch of these. 8911 Stratolite

Rick, Just the other day I was considering painting up some of my extra Branchline kits in PC. Your work has given me motivation! The only problem is tracking down those Despatch roofs and ends. Atlas doesn't list those as on their website.
Thanks, Mark

Atlas doesn't list those as on their website. Thanks, Mark Mark, You can also do cars in Lot 965, which were old NYC lots represented by the Proto 2000 single door 50’ boxcars which were rebuilt with no roof walks and lowered ladders etc., also some cars were the Branchline 1000c cars with 4/4 ends and Murphy panel roofs which would have to be cut and spliced from 40’ roofs. Highball Graphics has decals for these cars. There was also Lot 966 for double door cars but I have not researched that one as of yet. Rick Jesionowski

There is a Greenberg show coming up early next month, so I'll look for a couple of those P2K kits. It's just too bad that Atlas doesn't sell the Branchline parts. Thanks, Mark

Rick Jesionowski I have done a considerable amount of research on ATSF box cars and you nailed those. Excellent modelling. The other models are also outstanding!
