Just looked at Broadways shipping schedule and they show all E 6,7,8&9's.
Paragon2 EMD E6/7/8/9, HO February 2013
I know that this is not in stone, as I'm sure they will be pushed back, but at least they are on the list.

Yeah, waiting for the road names. Have enough E8's, but could use some more E7's. Then again, this is already gonna be an expensive year for Pennsy modelers!

As Walthers' E units are already out, it will be interesting to see how BLI's units will be received.
I have 10 BLI sound/stealth switchers, but have no experience with anything else BLI makes. Seen a few other posts about BLI's locos and they generally seem good. Always a few issues with anyone's products.
If you get any, how about a report on them?

I am on the reservations list for several including the 4-12-2 that was scheduled for last May, June, July then August then TBD. It is now scheduled for early 2013. The E series will be probably be closer to their estimates than the brass hybrid was last year, but they will be here when they are in the container ship.

I have a PRR E7 AB set in five stripe brunswick, both with sound that are great, smooth runners. The sound is very nice and they are heavy.

I have the first run sound version of the Santa Fe E8M unit, which looks like the E8. The first run is very nice and runs well. The second run that BLI imported had the passenger pilot, which was incorrect for the SF. The grills and detail behind them is much better than the Walthers, at least that is my thoughts. Larry

Larry Walthers and the last run by Life-Like of the E8/9's have the correct radiator shutters and other details behind the Farr grilles. Plano makes a replacement grille for the Life-Like/Walthers part. The Plano is much better than the BLI grille.

As Walthers' E units are already out, it will be interesting to see how BLI's units will be received. In PRR, Walthers did the E8's in Tuscan. I would expect them to do them in DGLE at some point. BLI previously did E7's in DGLE. It is my hope that they will do E7's in Tuscan. I don't think Walthers and BLI would step on each other.

As Walthers' E units are already out, it will be interesting to see how BLI's units will be received. The reason for the immediate sell out of the E8's at Walthers is they are building them on TIGHT TIGHT numbers. Basically what is pre ordered is built with a smattering of "stock" units. The tiny little bit of "open stock" is sold out immediately by dealers that want an extra model or two. The days of a Walthers Proto locomotive especially the E8/9's having open stock is long gone. The upcoming SP black widow SD9's from Walthers will have NO open stock! The entire run is already sold out and they are not due until the end of 2012 or early 2013!

Yes I agree the Plano grill is a good upgrade, but to make it look effective, you all need to shadow box the frame work with a little grimy of gray black behind the grills to get a nice prototype look. The BLI nose and cab windows are so much nicer.

The BLI nose and cab windows are so much nicer. Dave I certainly agree with that. The nose is a hard thing to reproduce and the Highliner/ Genesis is the best out for my money for F units.. I like the BLI E unit nose very well also and the SF model is plated to look like stainless steel. I also manage to pick up a B unit to go with the E8M. Larry

The BLI nose and cab windows are so much nicer. Dave The problem that kept me from buying an SP&S E7A was the parting line between the nose and the rest of the body--not a problem with an undec, but painted..... Ed

The Proto E8 is still not a BAD starting point. They can be good models with some work.

Tell ya what...if somebody were to put out a Phase II E7 in PRR 5-stripe Tuscan ca. 1955-6 with the TP & late numberboards I'd jump on at least 2 A-units, H10s or no H10s ;D sure would be a time saver.

Are you referring to the large modified number boards installed by the PRR? Thanks to the Picture from Fallenflags. Larry www.rr-fallenflags.org/prr/prr5882s.jpg

As the Bud Lite guy said...YES I AM LOL. I know they make them as a detail part but I'm not the best at cutting, filling, filing & sanding. I did it to an Athearn PA over 30 years ago though so if worse came to worse I'd do it. But I have all those kits to build...

Did you notice how the number boards are suspended out from the body nose in the picture from Fallen Flags? That would be an interesting detail to hang them out there with brass hangers. Larry
