I will be in the Dallas area next week, (Lewiston/Carrollton) for training. Any good hobby shops in the area? I would like to drive by the WABTEC locomotive plant, does anybody have the address?

Discount Model Trains 4641 Ratliff Ln Addison, TX 75001
This is the best hobby shop in the area, in my opinion.
The tracks that run parallel to and east of FM Hwy 156 are the testing and storage tracks for the GE/Wabtec plant. This used to be the original G.C.&S.F. main from Galveston, TX to Purcell, OK. This line connects to the current BNSF Fort Worth Sub at Lambert in Justin a couple miles to the north. There are typically several newly built locomotives stored at this connection along with several rebuild cores from various railroads.
If you want to get some action shots, the southbound Amtrak 821 comes by Lambert at 1152 and northbound Amtrak 822 comes by at 1802. The northbound morning Z usually leaves around 745.
