Long time lurker here. Some of you might remember me as an occasional poster on the original Atlas forum.
Is anyone other than me experiencing much longer than usual shipping delays from MB Klein? I have an order that's been sitting in "awaiting fulfillment" for almost two weeks, and it's enough to get me a decent discount from their rewards program. Which I would like to use on a new order, of course.
But MB Klein is ending their rewards program in two days. And I've never experienced such delays from MB Klein before. Thanks

Check the "Crew Lounge" for a thread about MB Klein being bought out. So not a surprise that the rewards are disappearing, and not shocking that shipping is suffering.....

I placed an order on Friday to burn off a $25 "reward". Usually I would have heard back from them by now that my order was shipped. Maybe they're stalling until after 12/14.

A recent order I made was placed on Nov 27 and didn't ship until Dec 5, which is much longer than usual. I did reach out to MBK while it was still awaiting shipping and this was their response:
"I have looked into this for you and can confirm that your order is currently waiting to be picked. This is due to our Black Friday sale which has resulted in a large amount of orders and a slight backlog in our warehouse. Our team are working through these orders as quickly as they can and your order will be with you very soon."
It isn't surprising as MBK is currently clearing out their MD warehouse with sales to minimize what gets moved to Nebraska, their new warehouse site under Hattons.
I burned my last set of reward points on Dec 7 as soon as I found out the rewards program was being discontinued. Pickins were pretty slim then as I was trying to find items I could use to burn the points on.

My Black Friday order finally arrived this past Saturday. I was "just" about to send them an email when I got the shipping notice. Have to check my points and maybe try to use them before the end of the year. I did manage to get a Rapido F30 flat car for $15 when they were blowing out the slow moving freight car inventory.

The MB Klein facebook post announcing the closure has a comment from a guy saying he ordered from KB Klein but got a package from Heartland Hobby Wholesale. That facility is in Lincoln, so Hattons is either using Heartland to fulfill orders, or maybe they will be moving into the same warehouse with Heartland after the move.

I just went on heartland hobby website, and it sucks. Can't order anything from it online, no listings of anything. I'm not gonna call to talk to people to order stuff with item numbers. I want to order the anti social way that I have been doing for decades now and make sudden uncontrollable impulse buys. Anyways, when the hell did athearn ready to rol cars hit 44$ a piece, what garbage when tangent or other high quality plastic with seprate grabs and ladders can be had for the same price! I would love.... to see arrowhead get into the lesser detailed ball game.

I was billed on Dec 2, items were shipped yesterday.
And no rewards points.
Well, OK then.
RIP MB Klein.

I did shop at MB Klein before the rewards program, but the rewards brought me back frequently to shop with the free shipping for $99+ orders and points I could cash in on money off codes. With rewards program gone, modeltrainstuff will be more on the level with other vendors with the exception of free shipping requiring a lower threshold of $175 now. Others are much higher.

From the closure page:
"We've put together a small FAQ which we hope answers most of these questions.
The company is NOT insolvent. The company is being wound down in an orderly fashion, leaving no outstanding debts.
Changing market conditions have had a large impact on the business, we have seen this in declining customer numbers, changing customer demographics and supply chain disruption.
Increased cost of compliance has become a large factor. Brexit, GST and other operational costs of running an international business have all increased dramatically over the past few years.
We do not have an exact date for closing down as of yet. We will be communicating this in the coming weeks."
