It's weird as it's one per boxcar the railboxs are ok.

So, are you going to tell what the problem is or are we going to have to guess?

Had some estimates this morning so didn't remove the truck till just now the side frames are twisting freely about the bolster so it might be fixable.

... the side frames are twisting freely about the bolster so it might be fixable. The ExactRail truck design had sideframes that snap into the bolster. If the problem is the truck seeming to be twisted so all four wheels don't stay in contact with the rail, rotating the sideframe always fixes things. I've had to do this on a bunch of cars.

My FMC railbox cars are fine really nice, the Gundersons are good too just the wheels I took them apart and put some glue on the bolster faces where it contacts the truck side frames to see if that fixes them, I can twist them straight but they're still too loose to stay so I used some super glue if that doesn't work I'll just put some new wheelsets on. I'm happy 5o see the railbox cars again as I was in N when they were last run by ER. Really nice cars.

I ordered two of the SP rubber boxcars (Gunderson 5200) and one of the Tex Mex boxcars. All the trucks on mine are good and there are no missing or damaged details.

so, in other words they copied the old garbage Intermountain 3 piece trucks? They do have some similarities in assembly. Fortunately the ExactRail varieties seem to work reliably once you straighten out the occasional truck that was snapped together crooked, plus they look a lot better.

Exactrail had been using equalized trucks for a long time. I have a ATSF PC&F Beer Car from 8 or 10 years ago that has 3-piece trucks. They work much better than Intermountain's similar design. Intermountain's feel quite wobbly, but my Exactrail truck sideframes have always pivoted pretty cleanly.
Most people do a 'three-point suspension' with their rigid trucks, where one truck is looser than the other. With the equalized trucks, both bolsters should be tight to the carbody to reduce the degrees of freedom.

With the equalized trucks, both bolsters should be tight to the carbody to reduce the degrees of freedom. I think that would only be true if there was equalization between the two trucks. Since there is not, there would be four point suspension, and the car is not fully equalized, as with three point. You still need one truck to be able to rock sideways. Ed

I have one of the early Railbox FMC combo box cars coming. Both early Rail Boxes are sold out. I pre-ordered one and paid for it so it should be on the say soon. I already had some of the Gunderson SP and SSW box but may grab one of the rubber service while they are still in stock.

I ordered a MNS and BN box, both are in the pushing it territory for my era but the influence of living in MN for 8 years is showing itself in my rolling stock fleet.
