Was just billed for the KM ML4000 by Trainworld as well as shipping notice. Anybody have one yet…? Not sure I’m supposed to like it until the AFR critics speak on the matter.  |

Pro tip: If the manufacturer calls you on it, you can deflect the issue by labelling everyone else as shills. |

I see no fixes coming and no response from them other than they will address it after the holiday which they didnt yet and probably wont. |

My KM delivered today. Quick USPS service from Brooklyn to Michigan. Looks nice in the box. It’s going to stay there. Not feeling the whim I did when I preordered it. Now, where are BLI’s next batch of Cryogenics tanks?  Update: The BLI Cryo cars finally arrived ~1-22. New to me, the box that the cars were in said MADE IN VIETNAM. Some fellows my age would look askance at that. |

I spoke with Reynaulds today and they said they got two KM locos in and the expect the remainder to come in sometime in February. When I ordered these last March, they told me to expect them in late January or early February 2024. So, the actual delivery date seems consistent with what they told me ten months ago.

Reynaulds mentioned that what they had were the nonsound versions as well. Actually, from a wallet perspective, the delay is bliss as I will build up the cash flow during tax season and I won't have much time to spend with trains in the coming weeks anyway. If I have waited this long, I can wait a little longer. |

PIKO has really stepped up their game in the last 10-12 years. They perform very well, and most locomotives are less expensive than Roco. Roco has had some quality issues lately, particularly with one certain motor that has been used in several of their models. Complaints about this motor are numerous on European forums. Most Roco models do not include cab lighting, and usually a minimum of sounds on their Zimo decoders, whereas, PIKO almost always includes cab lighting and sometimes instrument panel lighting, and extensive sound functions.
But, for all of the PIKO locomotives in my fleet, I've never had a problem with any of them. They run silent with the sound off, they are extremely well detailed, and the paint is well done.
