SP 5325 drifts downgrade through some snow drifts.............. The model is an Athearn SD39 that I picked up out in Pt Angeles, WA while on a road trip with the band a couple years back. I've kept it at my buddy's layout for the most part, it gets used as power for a heavy local. I finally brought it home for a little maintenance and decided to hang some parts onto it and weather it up a bit. Enjoy your Sunday! Mark Hills

I'm a sucker for short covered hoppers, so I couldn't resist this athearn car At an operating session yesterday because of a miscommunication in paperwork I was unable to continue one town over to deliver a bulkhead flat to it's customer, instead of dragging it back west with me, I decided to just bad order it in place.

Who makes the TOLKO wrap? I'll have to ask the layout owner, but I believe Columbus Trainmaster.

Working on a bunch of odds and ends this weekend, trying to close out more projects in 2024. First I installed new LED lighting in these GPs. The D&H is a Athearn Genesis model, and the ex CR Guilford GP is an Atlas model. The headlights are made using one larger surface mount LED glued to scalesoundsystems lenses. For the numberboards on the Atearn model I removed the front numberboards and then glued SMDs to the inside on the back of the cab. I also painted the back of the numberboards with a few coats of white to help diffuse the light a little better. For the Atlas model I chopped up the stock dual headlight numberboard light pipe and glued LEDs to the back of them. Need to chew a bit more plastic from the numberboard to get it to fit nice still. I also wrapped up the weathering on 339. Finally I completed this Tangent G43 (minus the interior weathering / load and semi scale wheelsets) and put it into service with Sergents and HiTech airhoses.

Testing out the first samples of the super non-lifting, tall version, switcher mount (thats a breath) spark arrestors. I need to go measure that SW bell at work too...

I showed this car a while ago but here is another view of it. Tangent X58 boxcar that was build from an undec kit. Painted PC Scalecote Green and lettered with an assortment of mainly Microscale decals to match the prototype.

Looks great Tom! So between you, me, and Den Lippert, that makes at least three of us who have modeled this car.

Your work is always an inspiration, Tom. I'm curious....you didn't model the PRR style "2" as seen in your proto pic. Seems like a detail up your alley!

I also based mine on that photo! Planning on replicating the corner damage that resulted in the PRR 2 when I weather it.

I have seen the other side of this car and it had a PC "2" on that side and my slide shows some evidence that the PRR "2" may have been added later. Not sure though.
