When I ran the new ST Trinity Reefer on the layout I ran into a problem. The reefer derailed when going around the (30 inch) curves on my layout, but was able to navigate the 32 inch curves OK. I checked the wheel gauge and it was OK. I then checked the trucks to see if they were swiveling freely. They seemed OK, but I loosened them a little more, but there was no change. What I did find was that the truck wires for the sound unit came straight out of the floor and were binding the trucks on curves as there was either not enough slack in the wires or the wires weren’t flexible enough to allow the trucks to move freely. To fix the problem, I removed each truck and pulled the truck and wires out an inch or so and formed a half loop of each wire and kept them out of the floor and then replaced the truck. The trucks now move freely enough to make it through the curves without derailing.

Thanks for the heads-up, and the fix. I've got two showing up in a few days, and want to get them "out on the road".
