I'm still working on autoracks. I am attempting to scratch build a couple of low deck PLH-10s to go under some racks. I am using Mike Budde's method of building around an Accurail flat car weight. next step is figuring out the deck mounted draft gear. I'm also working on another bi-level load. this time 73 Chevy C10's. I made a mold of the CMW short bed and cab, and used the resin castings to make long beds, a Blazer, duallys and crew cabs. I also back dated the grilles on the ones that will be seen with roof walk material.

......a lot closer to big sky easter egg than big sky blue... How are you planning to salvage that color? It looks even lighter than Rock Blue.

Different kind of weekend, attended a model show at Seattle's Museum of Flight, quite the setting! No trains except for a railway gun, however some of the modeling was very impressive and inspirational. The armor is all 1/35th scale and beautifully finished/weathered - one guy's work!

Accurails artwork for that set paints a vastly different picture
Not sure what I'm gonna do yet, that blue is faded like a 15-20 year old car, not a relatively freshly painted one like it would be in my era.

I've always admired a lot of static/military modelers skills. Theres a military/table top specialized hobby shop here on long island I use for almost all of my modeling supplies. None of the places that do trains stock anything for actual modeling anymore.

Major Brian Shul, USAF (retired) has some great stories about flying the SR-71, I especially like his "LA Speed Story".

Accurail paint colors always seem off to me. They have some nice kits but really need to up their paint color game.

I'm really glad I didn't order any. In fact, my dealer didn't get any of the recent Accurail cars I wanted. Must follow up on that.

Building CSX 9969 the former MARC GP40WH-2. Im going to start a build thread maybe later tonight. Been out of work due to back injury so i try to do some modeling before the pain takes over again. 20240220_163550 by Tripps Pics79, on Flickr I wanted the cab to snap into place just like the factory emd spartan cab did. Used the rear portion from the SP cab and glued it with the genesis f45 cab till it was roughly the right dimensions. 20240210_133338 by Tripps Pics79, on Flickr

Very cool, always liked those MARC units. Same. Can't wait to tackle the steel barrier things that MARC has on the rear pilot area.
