The 5400s are coming...
"The SD50Fs were built by General Motors Diesel Division (GMDD) in London, Ontario..."

What are the spotting features for an SD60F vs an SD50F? This model looks visually similar to their previous 60F.

Snagged these comments off the interwebs. Could be wrong, could be right:
1 The SD50 had six doors underneath the three rear fans, and the SD60 has eight doors. Those were the only visual external differences.
2 CN's first four SD60F's (CN 5500-5503) are alternately known as SD50AF's and were numbered 9900-9903 from 1985 to 1988. They differ from the rest of the SD60F's by having high mounted numberboards, as did their SD50F predecessors.
3 The hood doors beneath the radiators are different on both sides. Also, the doors just behind the air intake grill are different on both sides. They also shifted some latches over to an adjacent door.
4 The main difference between the SD50F and SD60F is the roof over the engine compartment. SD50Fs have a central raised ridge and 10 roof-top engine access doors (5 per side)extending from the central ridge down to the vertical carbody sides. SD60Fs have a smooth roof (one big hatch).

Did they ever offer a fix for the SD60F? I saw they were going to offer maybe new trucks(?) to those who had problems AND could prove purchase from a dealer. Won't buy one off ebay because of that, but did the parts ever turn up?
Always wanted some of both of the SD50F and SD60F's, but don't want something that just has to sit in front of the engine house

CN 5443 and 5458 on order! Wish the website did a better job of explaining the detail and paint differences between each road number (and appropriate eras) instead of trying to pick them out of the artwork.
Numberboards and class lights mounted high over the cab windows on the SD50F and low on the front of the nose on the SD60F are the most obvious visual difference until you start counting doors (plus the ridge on the roof over the engine compartment but that's hard to see trackside).

I've got 2 sets waiting to go into my SD60F's. -Trevor

Mailed it to Niagra Falls.
