NOT a steam locomotive, as is obvious. But such a grand and beautiful thing, I thought I'd share. I counted it as running at 20 RPM. But with a goodly bit of torque. It's a triple compound engine. I think the high pressure cylinder is the one on the near left, the middle pressure is the one on the near right, and the low pressure is the two far ones. I think. Amazing engine: 2500 HP, four cylinders, triple expansion (1 x 25" HP, 1 x 40" IP and 2 x 44" LP), 200 PSI, 26 foot diameter flywheel with 54 ropes turning at 68 RPM. They run it at 34 RPM today for demonstrations. Beautifully restored and maintained.
In another video there is a vintage sign: "Cleaning by women and young persons with machinery in motion is strictly forbidden."
