February Announcements from Gotham Rail - Antennas and More!

Time for another round of new releases from Gotham Rail & Marine!
First up is the Star 845 caboose flasher. If you model the Mid 1970’s and on, chances are pretty high your cabooses should have one of these. This light was super common, and used on more railroads than I can list. While red is by far the most utilized lens color, amber was also an option (Conrail seemed to like the Amber ones). This light comes in a 4 pack: with 2 base options. 2x with a mounting base, which is perfect for installations in roof overhangs and carbody ends. 2x with no mount, which can be easily installed with a few small dabs of glue on a piece of thin styrene for those that were mounted on a steel plate.
Includes 4 lights, with 5 unpainted clear lenses.

Next up is a pair of revised parts – The Saturn 6551 “Reflectolite” and Safety Products 52-4 Strobe Lights. These were two of the most used strobe lights in the 1970’s-early 90’s. This part is now offered with the lens as a separate part, making painting easier. The housing now also features a small mounting base, for a sturdier installation. Both of these strobe lights used the same lens – with the 6551 being held down with 3 clamp tabs, and the 52-4 was held down with a locking ring. These are easily lit using a 0201 LED (Evans “Z” LED).
Each comes in a 4 pack, with 4 unpainted lenses.

We will be revising more of our stobes in the coming months (I cannot promise all of them will have separate lenses however...)
Our next all new part (well…3!) – Sinclair Excaliber Antennas! Did you know there are actually 3 different kinds of Sinclair Antenna? I do not know when it was introduced, but the older style (never offered as a detail part before to my knowledge) was used on new equipment from the late 1960’s until the early 1970’s (and still used today). This was a much taller antenna, resembling an ice skate. Next is the newer, model 221 antenna. While serving the same purpose, this model was a lower profile, and has a “T” shape to it. Lastly, the much smaller 850 antenna was used for end of train device communications. These antennas are 100% scale and highly researched (I had one on my desk after all). The smaller 850 does have an extremely thin “web” to hold the top portion – we do have limits after all! Each antenna has a mounting pin for easy install.

Our final announcement – We are breaking into S and O scale detail parts (Sorry N scalers..)! We have been getting numerous requests to start doing other scales, so we are giving it a shot. Now, this is a testing of the waters so to speak. Depending on how these do, we will start offering more parts down the line. That does not mean we are going to offer every single thing we do, but possibly initiate a program where there may be a setup fee to for parts not done. It is likely the parts in this scale will move to print on demand/as needed. We will revisit this in a few weeks. For now, this is what we have:
