Hi all, Sooooo... I got this new QSI decoder for my P1K Budd RDC and after installing, I noticed there is no headlights that come on when I run it. This version of the RDC has an 8 pin plug so if I just plug the decoder in, shouldn't the headlights work? I tried turning them on, but nogo.
Also, Is there a way I can add momentum to the sound, but not the actual motor in the model? Only because whenever I get to speed step 10 out of 28 it sounds like its going to blow up......
One more question. Is there more than 2 horns (primary and alternate) on this QSI sound file?
Thanks, Cody

Try reversing the plug. If it is put in backwards, the engine will run, but the lights won't work. And it's tough to tell which way is forward in an RDC.

When I first plugged it in, I tested to see if it would run forward according to the little "F" on the end of the shell. It didn't, so I flipped it around. I'm not sure if the lights worked then or not. I'll try that though. I'll let you know if it works.....
While I was toying around with this thing, I also found that if I throttle down and it stops, I will try to throttle it up again right after it stops, but it just restarts the prime mover sound as if it was shut down. What's with that??
Thanks, Cody

Reversing th plug worked for that issue! Now change CV29 to an odd number so it will run forward with the "F". If your RDC has a 4 digit address, you can use a value of 35 to make it run normal direction of travel reverse, and turn off analog.

The shutting down and restarting is strange. Did you load the sound files in the decoder, or did you get it with those loaded already?
