Scale trains is having an ExactRail sale in both HO and N scales. I got mine! Stuff that was too pricey for me before today. One out of era, one foobie, and one sorta probable. None necessary, but when has that ever ruled out plunking down $$ for train stuff that is cute!. Much is already sold out. Some parts listed, but, again, most sold out

At the time of this writing, there are some code .88 28" low boy trucks available. These have been scarce over the years. I'd guess this will be about the last chance.

Thanks. I already have too many freight cars and what I needed from ExactRail in HO. I was tempted to buy a "pretty" 60's covered hopper but declined, what with the new Tangent Greenville's and other stuff coming very soon.
I did order a couple pairs of the Barber low boy trucks to have on hand and added an N scale boxcar to the N scale collection.

Sort of related to this but years ago when they had a sale on their original website they have those schoular hoppers on sale and I bought all six of them for $22.99 each and I thought that was a pretty good deal. And then they did a blog post about their most unpopular paint job on a freight car and they said it was the schoular hopper! And then it seems like after that they mostly sold out of them. I think they're kind of cool actually. Mostly saw them in a yellow paint not the gray one but I will say that they are some of my favorite cars.

I see ... a 50% off bargain on some metal wheelsets. Exactly what I picked up. And a Peavey low-side 4427 to go with the Tangent high-side version I already have. I hope the blues will be more similar than they appear in the photos, but with them being 11 and 8 years old respectively -- with the older car having a lighter blue in the photos -- I can weather them and make it work.

There are exceptions of course. Yeah, duh, that's why Manny made the comment about the cost of shipping to me.

I waited till my preorder for SD40-2s before looking through it. I found a Soo 4427 with a number that lasted into the 2000s. So it's fine for '78
