I finished up my USRA decapod this evening! That's a beautiful model. I went googling because I don't recall seeing a model of the locomotive as built with the weird cab to tender weather protection. Also, the skinny boiler and air above the drivers struck me as unique. I'm guessing that the prototype you used was one that had been given wide tread drivers for distribution in the USA?

Finished this patched out ex-NYC boxcar. Car started as a Kadee NYC boxcar that I weathered and then added the PC patch out paint and lettering. Car is based on a photo in the PC Color Guide II.

Hello everyone! Just got back from a two week trip to the Pacific Northwest going on Amtrak, but I did get some modeling done prior to leaving. This is a stock prepainted Bowser H21a coal hopper kit, I did hit the car with some dullcoat to get rid of the shiny new car paint look. Also completed another Stewart 14 panel coal hopper, painted with Scalecoat II Black Paint and lettered with some special decals I managed to acquire. The NYC in the late 50's acquired several thousand of these hoppers for servicing their industrial customers replacing worn out 50 ton twin hoppers. Finally the finished 3D Central X54 RBL boxcar kit painted with Scalecoat II PRR Freight Car red and Silver paints and lettered with Herald King decals. A pair of Bowser Alco C-636 demonstrators with a PRR Ore Train, running on the Strongsville Club Layout. Thanks for looking!

That's right, this is how the Baldwin decapods which couldn't be delivered to Russia looked when reassigned by USRA to other roads. USA 1101-1103 were assigned to the Philadelphia & Reading along with a fourth locomotive, which were purchased and became RDG 1126-1129. They (unsurprisingly) did not last long on RDG, only until about 1930.
