Here is a photo of my patched Penn Central X58 boxcar (Tangent). While Tangent offered a similar car I made my own by first weathering a stock PRR car. Then using Scalecoat PC paint and microbrushes I painted out the numbers, reporting marks and the keystone. I then added PC numbers and reporting marks.

I did some light work: Did some work to this arrowhead gondola to make it look like it’s on one of its first trips. Mostly just painted the wheels and gave it a matte finish. The load is something I picked up at the last show. Had to cut a little bit off to fit. I made a new holder for these tractors so I can run this car empty. There are two styrene “T” bars that slot into the groves towards the middle of the car. Bonus points for being able to be swapped to one of my Scaletrains F68s (although that could probably fit 4, maybe 5 tractors. I finally got some good enough weather (no booth) to put a clear coat on that NP boxcar. Also picked up 5 Intermountain PFE reefers out of someone’s “scratch and dent” sale box. These three got etched brass stirrups from Yarmouth model works and Moloco air hoses. Also replaced broken or missing ladder rings with tichy ones. The other two need a bit more help and am waiting on other parts to arrive.
