the Bachmann test rollers are quite nice and easy to use, I have a set of them that I use for test running and breaking in units all the time.

I also have six of the Bachman rollers. Truthfully,I don’t use them as much as I thought I would. My thought was to use them to break in non decoder units before installing a decoder because I dont have an analog layout available, but since most everything new now seems to come with Loksound decoders, which I have standardized with. My only use is when digging out an older, non DCC unit to put a decoder in…and of course Athearn.

Is there a roller set that works well with DCC units? Or are they both good and it does not make a difference?

I got one a couple years ago. The 3D printed parts were so bad that I couldn't get any of the roller sets mounted. The roller sets, frame, electrics were fine, just the black plastic 3d printed mounting. Mine was from Alibaba, not Amazon which can make a difference in getting something that works. But, given the month delivery time I'm guessing it is from the same vendor as mine. Hopefully quality control has improved since I got mine.

The Bachmann rollers are good value for money and work really well.

Unfortunately, several of the reviews are really bad, "Poor Quality,"don't trust it," "glue joints failed,"very frustrating," ... etc., etc.

Unfortunately, several of the reviews are really bad, "Poor Quality,"don't trust it," "glue joints failed,"very frustrating," ... etc., etc. I have six of these rollers, but not the entire assembly shown. I used the rollers yesterday to break in two of the new Atlas U30C’s I have in advance of speed matching. Usually I just run them on the layout, but it is currently undergoing a major project which has the main blocked precluding extended running. I ran both locos 30 minutes in each direction. The rollers performed flawlessly. Granted I’ve owned these rollers less than a year, others may have had defects show up over longer timeframes of use. Tom
