Is CM Shops still in business? I need some Coal loads that match what I have (coal loads for MDC Thrall Gondolas)

No, they're long gone. In fact the owner, Ray Threllfall, passed away a few years ago.

What are the dimensions? I have 2 (maybe CM shops) sitting around somewhere, if they are the right size you can have them.

Somebody's coal loads for Athearn cars just got restocked at my distributor. Motrak Models. Maybe they will have a load for these cars. There's a ton of types not listed on their website but in stock for me to order.

Has Athearn ever produced these since the MDC days ? I'd like to add some to my Davies Steel cars I got from Dean Freytag years ago. I can get decals done just need the cars. --- Ken

They sell them on Ebay , I just ordered several a few months ago.

Interesting. They told me several years ago at the Springfield show that they weren't making them anymore. I did check their EBAY store and they do have a few loads available, but nowhere near what they once offered.They sell them on Ebay , I just ordered several a few months ago.

I don't know what the story is on Motrak and the loads. I had always bought loads from them at the Springfield shows until four or five years ago, when they didn't have any on display. When I asked them what happened, they told me that they had sold the line to F&N. Since then, I have never seen loads on display for sale at the Motrak booth at either Springfield or Timonium. Maybe they have since changed their minds and are now back selling loads. I'll check their booth when I go to Timonium next month. Dunno what to tell you, since they're plain as day in the website for me to order and on Motrak's website too. Way more showing on my distributor's site than on their website. |
