Soildworks offers a full version of their software for only $48/ year to makers. It you act now they are having a blackfriday event for 50% off. The interface for the 3d experience looks like it is cloud based which is needed to access the software. The software itsself is on your computer. I am not tied to them in any way but have been on and off trying to learn it myself. Its definitely the same as the full version in functionality. the link is below or search for Soildworks for makers. EDIT It looks like they are offering a cloud based version as well. I guess its only a matter of time, lol www.solidworks.com/solution/solidworks-makers

Good to know. Autodesk allows a free license of Fusion360 for hobbyists, it's another option for 3D modeling at zero cost.

Just as soon as you start to get it all figured out they “improve” it and change everything to be better and you are right back to square zero. Almost like letting your wife clean up your hobby work area. I recently downloaded FreeCAD and can’t get out of square zero with that.

Almost like letting your wife clean up your hobby work area. That gives me chills. Especially if she like mine, she puts things away. That is SO not the same as putting them BACK.
