I might be down for one just because of the neat factor.
Is the the first new Atlas engine in a few years? It will be interesting to see how it compares to other recent tooled engines from Genesis/Scale Trains/Etc., Atlas has long since been behind on the curve when it comes to proper road specific detailing.

Wow, this is a surprise. Yes, Atlas engines are pretty generic, but they run well and are generally well proportioned with basic detailing.
But looking at the photo, the louvers look a little clunky, the end plates are kinda thick, and the side sill detail seems lacking. As a Master line product we can hope for further refinement.

I suspect this is a 3D print from the CAD drawings.

Yeah, I’m not sure how I feel about this one just yet. I was expecting to see this from Athearn more than anyone. I think I would rather see this from Walthers in their Mainline series before Atlas, but alas…or Atlas even. It is cool that they are doing all the different variations though.

For Master Line, I'm going to have to see much more before I get too excited. I think my detailed Athearn (RPP) ATSF CF7 is safe for now.

Of course they waited until I was just about done with my Athearn/RPP CF7... Isn't that some sort of model railroading law?

I’m in! Just happens that I sold my last Athearn CF7 on eBay last week. Great timing on my part!

I can't wait to see what roadnames they produce.

I can't wait to see what roadnames they produce. Hopefully Nittany and Bald Eagle! That's my vote.

I was at the show when the Atlas guy was talking to some other visitor. He was asking what railroads use them, and the Atlas guy was like 'Santa Fe and uhhhh... some shortlines?' I take it to mean that they do not have artwork planned for these models yet, because they didn't even know the operators of the prototype locomotive.

"Some" shortlines ... that about covers it!
