Nothing completed this week, but I like it when I dig out an old project just because I'm in the mood to finish it up. That's the way this Smokey Valley GP15 has been for me. Over the last 35 years or so, whenever Smokey Valley came out with this kit, I have built 4 or 5 of these things and I have enough stuff to build another one. On this one, I did a bit of frame grinding to fit the drive from a Stewart / Kato F unit. It runs really well and has a Digitrax decoder. Hopefully I can finally finish it this week... I did a bit more work on my 2 HOn30 diesels. I added NWSL motors to each N scale mechanism. Lastly, another photo from about 15 years ago. A cut down RPP shell, an RPP frame, and Athearn trucks.

Nothing very scintillating to post, but it’s what I actually got accomplished yesterday. Assembling and priming Moloco airhoses! These little guys are a good demonstration of kinetic energy, because if you barely touch them the wrong way, they fly off into the ether never to be seen again.

Well done, love the "assembly line" bulk production method, great photo!

Great looking auto rack. Lansing Return To is neat. GTW Lansing Yard used to be in my patrol area. Oldsmobiles were the product from there. Trucks came from Flint.

I am 100% guilty of not doing some simple research to find out where GM built their trucks. I actually decided to look it up after I decaled the car. I'll get it right on the next one....

MP unit? (the GP15-1) Looks great so far - I loved those kits. Never thought the day would come back then that they would release them in mass production. They’re a great project to work on that’s for sure. I started one in the early 2000’s but more parts were hard to come by and I ended up with the old Walthers ones.

...detailed and modified Accurail kit... Outstanding in every respect. Any photos of the underframe?

...detailed and modified Accurail kit... Outstanding in every respect. Any photos of the underframe? Thank you. I had an Athearn underframe leftover from an autorack I stole the rack from, so I used it to save some time. The ends from the Athearn car were also cut off and grafted to the Accurail flat.

Good work underneath, thank you for the photos. This is quite a kitbash, not much Accurail left in the finished product.
