Friend is looking for what I think is a G26017.1 motor for Ready To Run Athearn SW1500/SW1000. It looks more like an Atlas motor than the old blue box style motors. Has a four point mount instead of two, also. I think it's a smaller motor so they had room for the boards for DCC and sound.
Is there an open frame motor in one run of these engines that looks like a slot car type motor? That's what he describes. The only diagram I can find online is on HO Seeker and that's where the part number is from. Old Worthpoint links show a picture.
Motor looked to have been let get hot, the lube in it had caked up and locked up, he went to take it apart and the armature bent before the flywheel would come off.
I can rebuild a blue box engine blindfolded, but I don't have a ton of experience with the transitional into DCC era stuff.
