It looks like spring has sprung and everyone must be away from their computers. I got to spend some quality time with a Dash 9 and two EVOs for 11.5 hours yesterday so I wasn't able to turn my computer on. So, without any further ado, here's a couple photos of a waycar I weathered:

Good weathering. I like them looking used. The wheels are an excellent rust color! Larry

Thanks, Larry. I usually paint wheels raw umber and then dust them with powders to get the various rust shades I'm looking for.

Slowly working on my 5 Athearn SD60's for the Susquehanna. Got me some decals coming to accurately decal them. And a few more detail parts. Decals will hopefully be here by Wednesday. I dont think i'll be painting for atleast close to 2 weeks away.

Looking good, Steve. I've got 4 SD40-2s under construction and I feel overwhelmed at times, so I can't imagine doing 5 at once.

Great work everyone! I got a chance to paint this one over the weekend.... First loco I've ever painted. It's not the best paint job, but it's a start! I had an AC6000 I wanted to paint so I figured I'd get creative with the roadname, so I went with the fictional Allegheny & West Virginia Railroad. Not the best job, but turned out purty nice..... Here's my description for the loco: "Word has it that the Allegheny & West Virginia Railroad has decided to "modernize" their locomotive fleet. The railroad has recently acquired a GE AC6000 from Conrail and is seen in fresh paint just outside the AWVR Brewster shops......" Another addition to the locomotive fleet. This one I got on Fleabay. On BEAUTIFUL model!! Anybody recognize this infamous loco? Back to the trains...... Cody

Started building this small bridge crossing a storm drain. Still need to add the Culvert, airbrush the rail, and the railings like in the proto photo but I thought it was good enough to share. All those Proto87 tie plates were SO much fun to install LOL. Next time I'll just use a Central Valley Bridge deck. These are the walkways I plan on installing later on... Chris

Hello Chris,
I'm digging the bridge! I have two small dioramas in the works myself featuring bridges. Here's one of them:
Yeah, I know...it just a "Walthers special" but trust me, this is only the beginning...

Slowly working on my 5 Athearn SD60's for the Susquehanna. Steve - Just curious, what paint scheme did you strip for these models? I'm in the process of stripping some CSX units to repaint them because I didn't care for the factory paint. I just thought it was interesting that the CSX walkways are molded in black. I think I'd prefer gray plastic like yours to make it easier to see what I'm doing. Looking forward to seeing your models painted and decaled. Dave

2 were emd burgandy, 1 was ns black, 1 kcs and 1 all grey csx. There was blue under the gray walkways since it had the blue trucks and fuel tanks. Soaked in 91% alcohol overnight and came off with ease.

Nothing new this week, but here are a couple of old shots to remind me of the time I lived next to the NKP/Wabash joint line in Toledo, OH. Both pictures were taken on the Strongsville OH Society of Model Railroad Engineers club layout. Rick J

Just out of curiosity, why would you use expanded bead styrofoam instead of extruded? I've had bad luck with the expanded bead stuff, myself.

A week late, but here are a couple from my layout. Switching the industries near the Fort Frances yard. The hospital train--a movement of old and run-down equipment to the scrapper, repairs or museums. John Longhurst, Winnipeg cprailmmsub.blogspot.ca/
