Man that was close! I love this, a problem arises, someonoe with technical expertise steps up to the plate and knocks it out of the park. Mr. Moderator, you can tell us, you waited until the bottom of the 9th just for dramatic effect right? Now it's just a matter of rounding up the usual suspects before they get to comfortable in their new digs. Also there is the matter of financing. I'm in favour of add banners here and there. I'm particularly fond of the one where the cute blond in my area wants to meet me;-)

Hi Hugh, Hey man, thanks for the chuckle! Honesty, this started as a test to see if it could be done, and to see if I could get used to it. I really did not intend on showing it to anyone, but then figured, "Why not? Share it, and see what happens..." Worst case scenario, no one joins, no harm, no foul. Close it up, experiment failed. But, if people join... We have two weeks of ad-free forum time, after that, the ads will start appearing. There is an option to pay $7 per month for up to 50,000 page views, but personally I'm okay with the ads as long as they remain tasteful. Also, I have to find out how to track the pageviews so I can get an idea on average of how many people visit the site. It will probably take a while as the membership builds...

It's good to see you Hugh. I had a forum several years ago, based on automotive fantasy and science fiction writing, but it went nowhere. I did find that proboards is careful with who is allowed to advertize, and I never had anything objectionable. It's also kept to banners at the top and bottoms of the page. I'm on a couple of model trucking forums, and that's the way that it is there still. I very seldom even notice them, and have no problem with the advertizing.
