Shell doesnt look as fine as the Kato NW2. but isnt that what Bachman is best at,,,,,,Inferior Copies and for just $130.00,some bargain. Spikre But Bachmann is still a leading Manufacture in the model railroad world, some people don't have an eye for scale details so that's OK. I mean take for example my wife she has 1:3 scale dolls and cannot chose things in the right scale... to save her life. I on the other hand do have an eye for scale details, if you put a micro machine on your layout, I will call you out on it. Micro Machines are closer to 1:100 (TT) scale. Bachmann produces decent models (as of late that is) for relatively decent prices, not to mention they are perfect for the kids younger than I am (23). Bachmann trains take helluva lot more abuse then any Kato's, Atlas or Walther's locomotives and freight cars. I have two HHP-8'S that unlike Amtrak, I'm quite fond of how they operate... and if you asked me 5 years ago about bachmanns quality or for me to buy their locomotives, I'd tell you to find a cliff and jump. Now though I would buy a few, but just a few.
