First, please allow me to thank everyone for their support during the Amtrak 40th Anniversary! The Amtrak Exhibit Train has been updated and is back touring around the country with an entire display cabinet filled with model trains (albeit HO scale) depicting the current Amtrak roster of equipment. A list of upcoming destinations can be found at history.amtrak.com/Our HO scale exclusive models were very popular, and since we received a lot of requests for N scale models we teamed up with Kato USA to bring to market a first: Pacific Parlour Car #39973, "Santa Lucia Highlands" in Phase IVb! The feature car of the Coast Starlight is finally available as a plastic model and can be ordered immediately here: store.amtrak.com/ProductDetail.aspx?did=17265&pid=125424 Although the stock currently says 0, I confirmed with the store that they indeed have stock on hand and are fixing the glitch. This model is available as a limited exclusive, and can be purchased on board the Exhibit Train Store Car (while supplies last) or through our store website (linked above). It comes with a 7-5/16" section of track, for those who just want it as a static display. If you haven't experienced a ride in the Pacific Parlour car, I highly recommend it. I just received my Pacific Parlour car yesterday, and I thoroughly enjoy it. It looks great, Kato did an outstanding job, and for $30 its a must have! Please please get more N scale stuff! We need 822 and the F40PH (can't remember number) made! Possibly the entire train that goes with it! Oh and the full dome! Santa Lucia Highlands may end up on my Empire Builder consist for the heck of it though, the Empire Builder was the first long distance train I ever rode on. Also it would be nice to see #66 on the Missouri River Runner... |
