I was the lucky recepient of an Elevator or Grainery as constructed by one Greg McGinnis. Proud to announce it's back with a new life and rails. Everything has to have a story...right? See story attached to slide show. Update: Work progress. Enjoy the slide show and know more is coming. I hope! Edited Thank-you. You were all kind enough not to point out that it is really called a Grain Elevator. Now I tried to find the elevator so I could ride to the top but didn't have much luck. Sigh!

Thanks for the kind words. It's a bit overwhelming in real life but looks smartly sitting where it does on the layout.

Very cool.
I've seen grain elevators along Hiawatha Avenue in Minneapolis and they're at least that big! So the modeled hugeness is quite appropriate.

Again thanks for your comments. I've been having some problems with the older Peco switches as in power routing the current through the switch. Out comes the multi-meter and it affirms...no juice in the track. To resolve the many issues. I abrased the inside of the points and rails with a file. Noticed the Caboose Hobbies, hand throw was pushing the points over a bit to far and I corrected that by spotting a brad/nail to hold the switch in place and move the hand throw. Noting no current getting to the non-moveable points I then soldered the rail joiner between the moveable points and the non-moveable points. Checked with a multi-meter which indicated power in the rails. Celebrated by running a loco through the switch and waahla, it works without the loco's stalling. Time for a movie.
