Sirs, I would very much like to run a PRR GG1 overhead electric loco...(0 scale)..but would prefer to run her under the 'wires'. Does any member know of a firm that do 0 gauge catenary ? I do have some Somerfeldt HO scale overhead masts and wires from the old HO layout and have 0 gauge tram (streetcar) poles and ancillary fittings and test some of the electric locos under the tram wires. I maybe have to ask Somerfeldt if I can copy their masts but to the larger scale and have drawn a mast to twice it's size which I could make from brass strip. James Brodie.

nscaler711, Sir, I managed to get a photo of one of my English overhead electrics on site but in doing so wiped out my previous write up. Again-thanks for the PRR catenary info which I have downloaded. It's h0 scale but I just need to work to double the dimensions for building in 0 scale. It looks easier than copying the Somerfeldt pattern the only mod' I will make is to zigzag the overhead wire so as not to wear a groove in the middle of the loco pan'. Could you tell me please is the PRR gentleman still around ? I would like to thank him for the info he has provided. I will use my N.E.R. loco to test the catenary with until I can get a/some GGs. Thanks again, Jim Brodie Bill is very much alive and still at the address on the handout. His PRR layout has hundreds of feet of catenary up with PRR electrics running underneath. ------- Ken

There is an article in this month's Classic Toys Trains about building simple caternery.
