I have to admit I am glad my choice of prototype to model is CSX.
I would darn sure be broke if I was modeling NS.I have yet to see one of their heritage units that I don't like. ;D

The UP seemed to make a Grand show of each new unit as they came out unlike the NS which just received the units, painted them and put them on the road. Larry

...unfortunately, the UP units, for all the hoopla that was made over them, don't even remotely compare with what NS has done with their heritage paint schemes. These are truly representative paint jobs, not like the artsy fartsy cobbled together collages that UP calls heritage units... ...as you all know, I'm an Espee freak, but UP's SD70ACe #1996 had virtually no effect on me. It's such a hodgepodge of paint schemes that it ended up looking like nothing the SP ever had. The new Reading units are almost an exact replica of what The Reading used and are probably what they would look like if The Reading still existed today...
cheers,
Lorne Miller

That is pretty sharp looking. I'm not a huge fan of what they did for Pennsy, but the Reading unit is excellent.

That really is a sharp looking unit. I also agree with Lorne. If there were a hunderd more or so of those units, the Readin would still be in business. NS is doing a nice job with their heritage units. Other RR's could take a few pages from NS's book on how it should be done!

For the NS heritage locomotive be a true PRR freight locomotive it would be grimy back with a hint of yuk! green with oil and grease stains on the walkway..To this day I fully believe PRR freight units came pre weathered from the builder.

That is one sharp looking unit. Something Reading would have done if they were still around I believe.

My favorite is S&A 1065 in tuxedo paint scheme. Also ERIE 1068 in two tone green is beautiful. Great job, NS. Ciao. Raffaele Galiano

I must agree. The nose striping does add a bit of something to the unit.
