Do the UP and CEFX 64 foot trinity trincool refrigerator cars mostly operate in Southern California? I live in Omaha and I have never seen them here during railfanning. I'm just not sure to keep my fleet if they're not in Omaha. Thanks for your help!

No, but I'll bet quite a few of them originate in California. There are several customers here in Fort Worth that get anywhere from 1 to 10 of these reefers at a time. I see them on through trains as well as transfer movements from BNSF to UP and vice versa.
I wouldn't be surprised if you went to the right part of Omaha at the right time of day (or night) you would see some. Generally we spot them on midnight industry jobs here to work around the schedule of the warehouses/customers as much as anything. Maybe the same schedule considerations play a role there.

You tend to see a lot of them in Central California. The place where I saw the most at one time was when I was driving up US 99 near Fresno.

James I think the question you want to ask is if the reefers go through Nebraska at the very least, I believe I have seen them go through Bailey's yard before... I have seen the 57' Mechanical Reefer's go through Jeff City Mo. which is why I bought two lol. And if you don't want to keep them, let me know I was looking at buying a few. 992124 is the number I want lol. I did find some pictures of the CEFX in Nebraska Lodgepole, Ne. www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=900140Kearney, NE. www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2221177Hope this helps!!!
