SNFF?

I hope Donnell doesn't mind my starting this, but one of the most loved things from the old forum was SNFF. I'm hoping that we can keep that going here. If we do want to keep it; we need to decide what we want to call it. Do we want to stay with SNFF, or do we want to bring in our own name?
I'd thought about just starting one on N scale, on Friday night, and just calling it the Weekend Express Tour (WET), but the more I thought about it, the more inappropriate that felt. Doing so without first asking Donnell would be disrespectful to him, and this is something for all of us, so it should be up to all to decide whether to keep it, and the name it should be called. We also should address the Thursday night proto photo issue in the same manner.
A way of addressing this might be to collect name ideas, and then at some point, Donnell could put up a poll, where we could then vote for the name.

Hi Doug,
I have no problem keeping the "SNFF" moniker, or with revising the name with something new. Maybe for starters we can use the SNFF name, and then later segue into a new title. This transition can be preceded by an announcement of the change, OR, I can put up a poll and see what the members would like to do. I'm open...
Also, I don't want people to think that this is "my" board. I mean, yes, I initiated it, but out of necessity. I tend to think this board should belong to the membership, kind of like C&NWs "Employee-owned" slogan! Of course, we'll need someone to manage the site, and perform various administrative functions. I'll probably add addintional moderators as the membership grows to spread the workload (boy, this is starting to sound like a job!)

It will be easier to change the name of the Weekend Photo Shoot. Most folks will gravitate towards the thread when they see the photo's. "SNFF" had its day in the sun and now it needs to rest. I remember running the N scale SNFF for two years in the mid 2000's. Most weekends were easy but some were hard and the SNFF thread survived through it all. You can run it as a joint venture of all the scales on the forum or divide it up into individual forums. I'd rather see all scales together. It's worked in other forums. Stay cool and run steam.....

One thing I found while perusing some other boards, which I liked, was a common SPF (equivalent) across all scales.
In other words, put the weekly SPF in the Crew's Lounge or create a separate (preferred) sub-board just for SPF.
Face it, we all like seeing everyone's work, regardless of scale. We would just need to train ourselves to include the scale in the posts.
Thoughts?

Tossing in my hat, to say I'm with PowerSteamGuy1790 and Keystone. Run it as a one size fits all. Works for me.

It started as Sunday Night Foto Fun, but it's actually worked its way to being started on Saturday, and works either way.

James, there should be plausible meeting places across most of the railroads you mention. Off the top of my head, and I think these are right without checking: SP/WP/ATSF in the Bay Area; CB&Q/ATSF/UP/D&RGW in the Denver area; SP/UP/WP/D&RGW in the Salt Lake City area; and CB&Q/ATSF in Chicagoland.
If you can get hold of an Official Guide to the Railways in your time period at a reasonable price (some are now available scanned to CD/DVD) I think you'll get pleasantly lost in researching the other possibilities.

I would add ATSF/SP/UP in the Los Angeles area. In the Denver area you could consider also Rock Island. Ciao. Raffaele
