I was surprised to find my Apache RR C420 Silver loco did not have the A frame speaker mount. Is this true of all Silver Series locos?

I believe the only Silver Series that has the "dummy" A-frame speaker mount is the GP40-2. It has two weighted discs installed where the speakers would go.

I know some of the GE dash 8 models have the dummy weights for speakers, as do the Trainmaster and GE -7 models.
My C420 did not have this, and I ended up removing the engine crew and installing an MRC speaker from an old Athearn F3 in the cab. It now sounds better than the factory-size speakers in my other sound equipped C420.

All my EMD Atlas Silver series came with the "A" Frame sound chamber, can't remember about the GE's. No on the red box or the original Master series with the dual Lenz decoder. I have no Alco's so I can't say.
