Does anybody know where to find parts for old Atlas/Rivarossi locomotives these days ? There used to be a place in Plumsteadville PA called Bob's Train Repair, but so far I have not been able to get anyone there on the telephone. Is he out of business now ?

Last I knew ATLAS still carried some parts ,don't know if they have anything you can use but you might give them a call.

I doubt that Atlas would have any of the Atlas/Rivarossi parts-- it's been going on forty years since they sold these "Atlas First Generation" items. I remember Bob's Train Repair, thought he was also "Bob11156" on eBay. I don't think the store is in business anymore.

Thanks for the advice, guys - I am afraid Bob's Train Repair no longer exists. He must have retired or passed on. But I will keep looking for a source of Atlas parts. I now have an extra E-8 loco that needs a new motor.

Probably your best bet to find old parts for these is finding a similar unit on the unnamed auction site.
There used to be an outfit that made motor upgrade kits for many of these early generation locos. unfortunately the name escapes me and I don't know if they are still around.

Alliance Locomotive carries the Helix Humper motors for replacing original Rivarossi motors: www.alliancelocomotiveproducts.com/photos.htmThe N scale products are toward the bottom of the page. There also used to be a guy called "The Motor Man" who had replacement armatures for the Rivarossi can motor and I believe you could get either three or five pole armatures. Five pole, for sure. He used to sell them on eBay. I don't know if he is still around, however. Doug

Thanks Doug. Alliance was the one I was thinking of. wasn't sure if they were still around or not. The Motor man is still around as well, at least I think so. Eldon Shirey www.micro-loco-motion.com/

A bunch of C-Liners and parts just sold this morning on eBay. $52 plus shipping for what looked like two complete units plus shells and pieces of three more (more or less).

Thanks George. I forgot to mention that keeping an eye on eBay is still a good idea for finding old N scale stuff.
Also, thanks for The Motor Man info uboat.
