I was pleasantly surprised. It has lots of technology while being simple and straightforward to use. It's a little more pricey than some other systems but the base unit comes with two integrated cabs and all the technology to make up the $200-$300 difference in price compared to other units:

James, Interesting unit. Thanks for the review. Looks like a commercial product that may attract those who'd otherwise gravitate towards JMRI, except for being uncomfortable with setting it up on a computer to do that. ESU has done all the hard work of system integration in one neat package.
The form factor is a little odd, but will work well for many. I can definitely see some good things Does make me wonder if there's a single throttle unit base station available in addition to the dual throttle unit shown here?
And are there other wireless throttle form factors available? As a NCE user, the "landscape" format is more irritating in the handheld than it is in the base station, where it starts to make more sense when you have a sophisticated touchscreen monitor to accommodate. I guess the cell-phone-sized touchscreen of the handheld seems like a hurdle for my fat fingers.

I've got the Ecos system and two of the wireless throttles. I really like the base unit, but can't say I really care for the "video game" controllers as they don't lend themselves very well to single handed operation. That being said, ESU announced a new wireless throttle just last month at the Nuremburg show that looks promising .... www.esu.eu/en/products/digital-control/mobile-control-ii/Mark.

Hey, that is a much more attractive package to me. Maybe they'll be blowing out the sets like the one James reviewed here to clear the stock out for the new style? Might be some bargains to look for.

I really like the look and feel of this system, but I might have to wait until the new system comes out that doesn't include that 2 cab base station, I wouldn't use a stationary throttle. It seems like the most advanced system out there right now, and easy to use with that wireless throttle, almost like the RailPro controller! I'm torn between the 2 systems, I really like the full throttle feature with LOK sound, but the price and ease of use with RailPro.

I like the looks of the throttle and it seems to combine the best of traditional throttles with a physical knob, hurray, with a touch screen for other controls.

I would love their handheld controller combined with a direct locomotive bluetooth connection rather than DCC commands over the rail.
