I have a layout that is 4x16, switching layout. I have a NCE Power Cab and I would like to installed two UTP Panels (524-207) I have my main Power Cab at the end of the layout. I would like to installed the two UTP panels on the side of the layout by my two yards. I run a Min. of two switching engines. Do I have to installed a booster because I went with an extra panel? The distance between panels is 4 ft across and 8 feet to the PCP Panel.

Check page 12 in the PowerCab manual for the wiring diagram.
Essentially, you can add one extra cab (throttle) by using the UTP panels. You have to leave the PowerCab plugged into the PowerCab panel, because that's where all the power/control comes from. You can hook up as many of the extra UTP panels as you want (there is a limit to this, but it's way more than a couple of UTP) so long as they are daisy-chained properly. Then the second, extra cab/throttle can be used as a walk-around control, plugging into the UTP and moving on as needed. You have to leave the PowerCab plugged into it's panel at all times when doing this.
Basically, the PowerCab operates this way as a stationary throttle, while the one additional cab allows walkaround operation at the same time.
