Is there anybody here that uses on board video equipment on their layouts. I would like to "take a train ride" on my N scale layout, and I've seen some you tubes done this way. What do you use for on board video cameras?

The only video equipment that I'm familiar with is the Micro Mark unit and I don't believe it could be made to fit in N scale rolling stock, the unit I saw was several years ago and it was in an O scale train.

I have a unit that I place in a Walthers well car that is pushed around by the locomotive. I use the Walthers car as it is metal and heavy and eliminates tracking problems. The camera operates off of a 9 volt battery and the battery lasts about 5 hours. My plans are to enclose the camera in an E unit or F unit. It is that small. I got it from Japan several years ago. The camera is made by a company that also makes them for the medical field. [You can now have a video of your entire digestive system from start to finish]. The company used to advertise in Model Railroader but I have not seen any add for them recently. The camera is narrower than a N scale car and will fit inside the well area of the Walther's car along with the 9 volt battery and the transmitter. It transmit a signal to a receiver that is connected to a TV or video recorder. There is some intermittant interference possibly caused by dirty track, sparking of the engine's motor or possibly the florescent lights? Don't know but the camera is so small it can easily be hiddened in a dummy engine. I have seen other units that are larger and have a better picture. But mine is fine and the picture is in color too but no sound. I can't place my hands on the unit right now but I seem to recall it was made by a company called RF Systems or something similar to that. Maybe someone else can fill in the name of the company.
Okay I located the name of the company. It is RF Systems Labs and they have awebsite. However, I was not able to locate my camera on their products page.
