Last night I got a call from Alan, the store's owner asking me if I knew that they were having a 20% off sale this weekennd. I told him that I was unaware of the sale. Apparently they had a problem with their mailer and it did not get out. But to make a long story short, this weeked they are selling everying (except MTH ande BLI products) at 20% off MSRP. I stopped by last night and bought three locomotives. If something has been made in the last decade or so, they probably have at least one of it and it is on sale. They must have 500-1,000 locomtoves in stock and a ton of rolling stock, structures, etc. So if you live in the LA area, you might want to consider stopping by the store. They have HO, N and O gauge Lionel/MTH tinplate stuff.
I have no connection to the store, except that I want to see them do well and stay in business.

Interesting.. never heard of the place. Last time I was out that way I went to Milepost 38 in Anaheim, which I had not been to before. But I didn't know of one in N. Hollywood. Normally I visit Allied and OWS. Allied because it's on the way from the airport when we get there, OWS because it's the best. All Aboard is gone, as is Long's... well it's still a Long's but no longer a train department, and the short lived Train Quest might have lasted longer if Long's had bailed sooner. For a brief time there were two decent hobby shops in Moreno Valley.
In Cincinnati the two shops we have left are both fairly new - DCC Train and Tim's Trains. Tim's spun off when Johnny's - the oldest of the old ones - shut down.
