Loksound auto/manual notching not working right

Atlas classic gold rs3 with loksound select.

Bought new

Called loksound told me to hold f 10 and make sure it's off

Worked the other day but only on 28 step not 128

Tried it again today. Notch 3 times on 28 and twice on 128


Is there something I'm missing?? Do I need to do a reset??

This has been bugging me so I'm asking for help..

It sounds like a cv may have been monkeyed with, possibly a random electronic thing. One of mine did some squirrely things until I reset and started over. Have you tried resetting the decoder?

I just did for the first time.. The only thing I did was slow down 66/95

Was that a no no??

As it sits it notches perfect and even 128.

Maybe I should only use function 7 for switcher mode??

I hate my engines running at top speed mechanically and the noise over loading the sound..
