What are my limits speaker choices etc..
Will I be disappointed since I'm used to aux6 and selects?

No, they are not upgrade-able as they have been replaced by the 4.0 which is entirely different hardware and software.
Your speaker choices for the 3.5 must be of the 100 ohm variety. Anything else will damage the audio output amp.
If you are used to the Selects, you would be very disappointed. Mainly because most all of the Select recordings are newer updated files with much more features and way better sounds. The 3.5 files are all the old original files that have poor (if any) transition sounds and lack a lot of sound features mainly due to their much smaller sound memory.
If you can get some for dirt cheap (or even free), they are fun to play with, but don't expect a whole lot in the way of quality if you are comparing them with the more recent sound files. You would probably be satisfied with them if you were using steam - they weren't too bad, but the diesels fall really short in comparison to the current files.
Mark.
