Train #27 was a pretty unremarkable Chicago-Milwaukee train in the timetable. No Skytops or Super Domes on this short daily 85 minute run to Milwaukee. However it was unique in that it regularly carried a Los Angeles to Milwaukee storage mail car. This car was usually a Santa Fe "economy" baggage car received from the AT&SF in Chicago. Here we see a typical consist of Train #27 leaving Chicago.

Well your model work is certainly remarkable. Interesting they used UP colors for that train. I doubt the route between Chicago and Milwaukee was considered a scenic route which would explain the lack of sky tops.
