Good Sunday Morning to all the Forum Folks.
Pots of regular and unleaded coffee are brewed up. Eggs are ready for your order. A large batch of free range chickens', brown eggs from a good friend up the road. Bacon, sausages and ham for the meat sides. Hash browns, home fries, grits or oatmeal round out the starchy stuff. Lots of donuts, breads for toasting and biscuits, too. A large bowl of fresh fruit isis on the counter. The rest of the liquid stuff is in the cooler. Dig in and enjoy.
Damp, warm and humid here this morning. Had a fairly nice, moderate t-storm last night. The plants & crops sure needed it. A slight chance of some once again this afternoon, but as usual, we'll have to wait and see. There's no standing water, as the ground has absorbed it. Only 4 front porch plants will need watering today. Didn't get to the trains last night, so I hope to get out there today. Have to take Adam to work at 11:00 this morning, 1st.

I'm headed to church, and then a relaxing day is planned. I've got some friends coming over later to do some jamming, and after they leave, I'll run some trains.

Well, it's Sunday afternoon on a BLISTERINGLY HOT 1st of July. Brunch is on the counter. Egg salad, cold cut or ham sandwiches, potato salad, cole slaw, chips and cold drinks or beer. Got lucky and do not have to go in to work today. One of the part-timers decided to work the whole shift!! I may get out to the trains this afternoon. The a/c has been running so it ought to be tolerable out there. 102 is the forecast high and the humidity is quite high, too. Hope that all the Forum folks have a good day.

Sunday Evening update..... We got our power back on about 25 min. ago. Had a pretty severe storm pass through at 5:00p.m. Still lots of lightning & thunder, but very little rain, now. The winds were pretty stiff and we have small branches, leaves, twigs and pine cones all over the yard. Son will be busy tomorrow morning, as we'll be at work. With no power, didn't get out to the trains..... At least it's somewhat back to normal again. Time for a glass of wine, methinks.

Sunday morning here and it's NOT raining for the third day, there is a chap called Noah asked me if I would like some surplus ship timber as his plans have changed (no offence meant I say this in the nicest possible way and I am sure our good Lord has a sense of humour or why would he have created man) I have a small passenger liner based on the New Zealand railways victualling boats Earnshaw to 1/43 scale and am doind a hull to make a Collier this will give the grand and greatgrandchildren chance to use the Lionel dockside crane. I have a Triang railways 'grab' which actually works although it does suffer from metal fatigue and keeps the super glue in use. I need to slow the actions or is it antics of this crane down as it seems to work in top speed allt he time! I am looking for a Lionel Tug Boat to add to the harbour atmosphere and hope my sheets of ripple glass survive the move from North Yorkshire to the Shetland isles once Modom has had her medical treatment from the 23rd July onwards. The one Gondola wagon I have will be kept quite busy being loaded and unloaded but maybe a good thing as the kids won't have too much coal dust flying about. James.

Good Morning Jim and the rest of the Forum folks. Good humor there Jim. I like & "get it"!! Sounds like you have a lot different projects going to keep you busy for a while. Work has been keeping me away from everything. Several long and busy days. As of yesterday, I've managed to squeeze 28 days of work into 22! I got the new guy sworn in Friday afternoon and he worked with me yesterday. Very busy day for us and never got to cover some things I wanted to, with him. He's working tonight with my Sgt. and then Mon & Tues night with my Capt. Today is my only day off and my energy to do anything is zapped. I'm going to try to go out and clear any cobwebs from the train building and see if the engines still run. Have to get the son to work about 6:30, then pick him up at 11:00 tonight. Hope that one and all have a good day.

Good Sunday Morning once again to all the Forum Folks.
Still warm & humid with dampness all about, due to last night's t-storms. They sounded and looked worse on RADAR than they were, for us. The showers were light to moderate when they passed through.
I'll have some coffee for now as we're headed out to Clinton for breakfast. The place will be full and we may have to wait, but it will be worth it.
Managed to get out back for a while last night and while it stormed, I unpacked 72 freight cars and put them on one of the shelves. I still have 3 boxes to unpack and put up!
I have to get a portrait shot of LD and myself to include in one of the local church books. They're celebrating 150 years and have asked the Mayor & I for pics, as we have spoken at some of their annual meetings and other special events in the past.
Hope that everyone has a good day.

Good Sunday Morning to all the Forum Folks.
The coffees & teas are fresh brewed with pitchers of the iced variety for those who want/need something cool. Eggs, cooked to order, bacon sausages and thin chops are sizzling away on the grill. There's home fries, rice 'n gravy, hash browns, oatmeal and grits, along with blueberry pancakes. Donuts, biscuits, raisin muffins, yogurts, cereal and granola bars are on the counter, next to the large bowl of fresh, cut-up fruits. The milks, juices and cnned drinks are in the cooler. No sleeping in, as LD is taking us out for breakfast and then it's off to replenish the provisions, as it's our only day off together to get it done. Adam has to work tonight, but only for 4.5 hours. Almost, just almost, not quite worth it. But as I tell him, X number of $$ per hour is better than $0 per hour.
Due to working all day yesterday and not getting home till after 6:00, then getting supper, I didn't make it out to the trains last night, but after we get back today, that's my plan. Not sure when I'm going to get the lawn mowed. I don't want to wait till I have to rent a few goats!! The afternoon t-storm yesterday has the yard wet, once again.
Hope that everyone has a good day.

Happy Sunday. Still waiting for rain... This means I don't have to mow the lawn, but it does mean I have to wash the dust off the vehicles. I'm probably heading over later to the train club to run a few things.

I'm probably heading over later to the train club to run a few things. We had a slight chance of rain last night and the concrete damp actually got a few drops and was damp for a few minutes, but no real rain. Our rain does not normally come down until October or November and the rain coming up from a tropical storm off the coast of Southern California did not reach us last night. The clouds did limit the high temperature to about 82 or so and that was great! I ran the latest Genesis SD70Ace again and tested the sound. Sure sounds good but the volume had to be turned way down. Well, I didn't get to go to my club and run trains. I stayed at home and did some scenery work. It is the only part of the layout that has any scenery at all, and will be updated after I get more scenery down and in place.

If I can clearly hear it from 5 scale miles away, it's way too loud. I agree. Sound is something that does not scale down correctly much like the weight of the HO models. The sound using the special speakers seems to be 150 to 175% of the normal Soundtraxx units that Athearn uses, which is already loud. The fault I have with the Tsunami is with the motor drive. The motor drive is less than great and should be upgraded for smooth slow running. Larry

It is a great Sunday morning and we are home after the 9 AM service at Church. The heat is broken for now and mid to low 90's are in store for this week. I hope to get some pictures of the UP special running this week for the safety express train in our area. Larry
