hello, gents.....wanting to know if my ancient Commander would be able to access any of the CV changes that are built into the latest Sound Traxx Tsunami chip. This one is loaded into the Walthers Proto SD7. The chooch in question runs with pre-programmed number board lights in DC analog, but they are off in DCC mode. Like to at least get these running in DCC, as well as adjust the volume on the horn and bell. The Commander has F0 to F2 settings plus a shift mode to access F3 & F4. I'm told I'll need to get into "F5 or F6" to effect these changes. Not sure if it can be done with this control. Been told that the old unit may not have the power to get 'er done. Anyone want to share a procedure, or opinion. I'm going to buy a new system, but that is still a few weeks off. Can I do this now? Thanks !

I'm afraid you are out of luck with the old Atlas Commander. It just doesn't have enough program power to work with sound decoders.
Mark.

I think if you could round up a Lenz controller it might plug into your system and be able to access some of the higher functions. Lenz made the Atlas Commander.
Otherwise it is upgrade time.

A Lenz controller won't increase the capacity of the Command Station. It is what it is. With it's limited ability to only use 2-digit addressing and only five available functions, it ranks below even "starter set" by today's standards. Time to upgrade .... Mark.

....And up grade we have, with a new NCE Power Cab ! No comparison at all, but I'll keep the old Atlas around to run my jiffy track.
