So, when installing LED's for lighting in headlights, do you guy prefer to wire them in series with each other or parallel? What resistor would you prefer in both cases? And what would happen if you put two resistors in series?

Best practices state that each LED should have its own resistor .... but I don't follow the rules ! For my headlights, I use two LEDs in parallel. They may be standard 3mm variety or they may be turned down to fit the opening. Regardless, I wire them like this .... For my number boards, I wire them in series .... Why ? Just makes them easier to mount - nothing else .... For white LEDs in parallel, 1000 ohms works well. In series, I'll step it down to around 470 ohms if I want them bright, or around 2000 to 4700 if I want them dimmer like the numberboards. Mark.

If you put two resistors in series, they have a cumulative effect. For example, if you place a 100 ohm resistor in series with another 100 ohm resistor, electrically it would be the same if you had installed a 200 ohm resistor.

Mark that's how I do mine but recently I've been doing 603's smd's with fiber strand with tsunamis board I used 1k and with esu I use 470/5?? Then dim them down if they end up too bright..
