Has anyone ever taken apart the circa 1860's Bachmann passenger cars. I went to a train swap sale and a fellow was selling interior configuration kits for passenger cars, so I bought several. Now I'm concerned that I make break them taking them apart - any suggestions.

Yes I've taken one of these apart. First it fell off the layout onto the floor and splintered into a dozen pieces. Next, I picked them up.... What was that? Quit leading him on. I woudln't do that, would I? ;D I'ma thinking the roof pulls off and you can then access the interior of the car.

For Information: I contacted Bachmann, and they said to remove the trucks, and while holding the car upside down, there is a "tab" at each end of the car, press against the "tab" with a small screw driver, and the car body will "pop off" the car bottom - you can now access the car weights, window glazing, and add to the interior what ever you like.

Glad I could help. Well maybe not. I thought I had one of these in a junk box but couldn't find it. Looks like you are good to go and know how to find your own answers. That can't be a bad thing. ;D
