Well this is a great day to celebrate love, diversity and Model Railroading. I am getting myself ready for this great train show coming up this weekend. I will spend the day reflecting on all the trials and tribulations of OUR people as United States citizens as a WHOLE. We have come very far when I can go to a train show with White people and black people holding hands. I am just being very light guys. I am glad that this year I will NOT be greeted by a huge confederate flag on the wall in the Better Living center as I enter into a FAMILY EVENT train show. I know many people feel the same way I do, I love ya dawg!! Happy MLK day!

Martin Luther King Day Greetings and Blessings, Big Al and everyone else. I was just thinking this morning what a great thing it is to celebrate this day. There's much work that still needs done, as events often remind us, but it's good to have a day that also includes a reflection on how far we've come. Being old enough to remember the Sixties makes me young enough to never forget that, as well as aspire to the unfinished business of being a country for all its children, no matter who they are. And for many, it's also a great day to work on the layout. If one thinks about diversity and wonders about its value, we need only look at our hobby to realize the benefits of diversity. From old time RRing to the latest diesels, in scales big or small, AC, DC, or DCC, model railroading can be very idiosyncratic, but we're all joined together by the love of a single topic, the romance of the rails big and small.

Agreed Al and Mike. From what I remember, have read, and seen of MLK Jr, he was a great man, a leader, and a unique individual, one that I feel kept things in focus. Not at all like the dividers in the public eye today that throw his name around. They could learn an awful lot from Dr King.

Agreed. I was traveling to Buenos Aires yesterday. Real life railroads in Argentina are not so robust.
Onto Antartcica on Thursday.

You weren't greeted by the rebel flag because you and Bob's photos were banned from the show in any sales capacity because you had a physical altercation last year. You were both reduced to only being able to attend the show without booths. How many bans does this make for you now from many forums, shows, and stores?
