I see from checking Dan Glasure's website (www.brasstrains.com) that Howard Zane and his crew are attempting to revive the all-brass Brass Expo, last held in 2002, at this April's GSMTS, at Timonium, on April 11 and 12, 2015. If you pay the $9.00 single adult admission to the brass show, the regular train show admission is free...You can get the hand stamp for both days, and kids under 16 are free with paid adult (which might be helpful to me personally--thanks Howard). I'd like to see some of the gang again, or at least those who are still with us, (RIP Armand from The Caboose, and others) and some of the brass models are now down to bargain prices. I just missed out on an Overland Models Santa Fe RSD-15, factory painted, on the evil auction site, that only went for $275--and I don't know if there was actually a reserve, I can't tell--but that's an awesome price, below original dealer net on those things, which for Santa Fe are more accurate than BLI's model. Maybe I'll get lucky and find a bargain on something southwestern that I can use; maybe not--but I'll be there to check it out anyway. I sorta owe Howard at least that much. I want an Oriental LTD. Phase 3 late 48" GP9 from Sam's last run in 1984/85. Don't care if the gears are blown. Me want late GEEP ! ! !

It was quite the show....twenty thousand pieces of brass, and not one Sam GEEP ! No Key PRR C1 either. Goes to prove that if you have a popular piece, it will never make it to a show. Did find a couple of UP Turbines at Dan's set-up. Came home with a Balboa Veranda, and eschewed the unpainted, single unit powered Ajin GTEL8500, for giant $$$. Over all it was fun, and I hope the crew will do it again !

I went to Timonium on the 11th, but didn't know that was how the admission was set up so didn't go in to look. Of course the dates are past now so too late for that show but helpful for the next time.

I didn't pay attention to this topic until it got bumped today and only because I noticed the Brass Expo when I went to the T show last weekend the topic got my attention. Anyway when I was at the T show, I assume since Brass Expo had a separate entrance and was walled around with a big curtain thing, there was a separate charge but I didn't ask. According to the info posted by the OP above, if you paid the admission for the brass show, the regular T show was free. Now I paid for the T show with a coupon for my wife and I, so it sounds like we would have had to pay a couple dollars more if we wanted to go to both assuming the coupon only applied to the T show. Live and learn. If there was a big sign informing about the arrangment for entrance to both shows, maybe I didn't see it.

The regular show was a little thin in terms of vendors compared to the fall and winter show, but considering it being spring and all, it wasn't surprising. One of the big layouts the north room seemed to be having problems I never saw any trains running the two times I walked over; bummer for them - big layout. I still enjoyed going and there was plenty enough to browse through and treasure hunt; not spectactular but worth the trip out with my wife. We dropped by Kleins afterward to stock up on some Kadee couplers, cork roadbed and some putty I need to refinish the roofs of some Front Range TOFC trailers before painting them silver (dang sprue is on the middle of the roof).
